According to the London Evening Standard, Barcelona are interested in giving players to Tottenham Hotspur in exchange for Ryan Sessegnon and Tanguy Ndombele.

Both players are in tricky spots at Spurs. They joined the club in big money moves last summer, signing to work under Mauricio Pochettino.

However, Jose Mourinho is now in charge of Spurs, and both players are on the fringes. Neither of them have started a game since football returned last month.

Sessegnon wasn’t even on the bench against Everton on Monday night, with teenager Dennis Cirkin picked on the bench ahead of him.

That has now resulted in speculation about his future. Barcelona are thought to be interested, but Mourinho has ‘personally blocked’ Barcelona’s approach.

Sessegnon is allegedly ‘frustrated and puzzled’ by his lack of playing time, and both players will allegedly consider their futures if they fear sitting on the bench again next season.

Barcelona don’t have cash to launch bids for the pair, who cost a combined £80million last summer, so want to offer cash plus players to tempt Spurs into a deal.

Mourinho seemingly feels stronger about keeping Sessegnon than Ndombele, but it would take a special offer to convince to Tottenham to part ways with their 2019 additions.

It’s unclear who Barca would even offer, but the likes of Samuel Umtiti, Nelson Semedo, Ivan Rakitic and Philippe Coutinho are thought to be available; all big-name players that Spurs will surely have some level of interest in signing.
