According to The Sunday Mirror (28/03, p73), Jorge Mendes is now working on a deal to send Barcelona’s Francisco Trincao to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It’s claimed that Barcelona will need to sell players this summer, and Trincao could be one of the players sacrificed to raise funds.
Super-agent Mendes is believed to be working behind the scenes on a deal, less than a year since Barca forked out £30million to sign Trincao.
The report even claims that a transfer is ‘almost certain’ as long as Nuno Espirito Santo stays as Wolves boss, and Barcelona could take a huge loss.
They want a cash sale of £19million, but may settle for a one-year loan deal with a £313million permanent clause, whilst Wolves pay his full wages.
Trincao, 21, scored for Portugal’s Under-21’s against England on Sunday night, firing home a penalty to secure a 2-0 win.

Primarily a right-sided winger with a fine left foot, Trincao has hit three goals and two assists in 22 La Liga games this term.
Adding another left-footed winger may increase fears over the future of Pedro Neto, but raiding Barcelona for such an exciting talent is another sign of the rapid progress Wolves are making.
