According to Gianlucadimarzio.com, Jordan Lukaku’s proposed loan move from Lazio to Newcastle United is off due to wage issues.

It has been reported that Lukaku, brother of Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku, had undergone a medical at Newcastle.

However, according to the report, the Magpies were not able to reach an agreement over the wages of the left-back.

Lukaku will now go back to his Italian club Lazio, according to Gianlucadimarzio.com.

Newcastle need cover at left-back, and Lukaku will have been a good loan signing for Rafael Benitez’s side for the second half of the season.

The Magpies, though, will now have to move on and find an alternative, with less than a week left in the January transfer window.

It will be a huge blow for the Magpies if they are unable to bring a left-back before transfer deadline day.

Newcastle are fighting for survival in the Premier League at the moment and are in danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season.
