Kia Joorabchian could bring another player to Arsenal this summer with Sport claiming that Barcelona would sell back-up goalkeeper Norberto Neto for £18 million.

Anything that could possibly go wrong has gone wrong for Mikel Arteta since Project Re-start was transformed from a hopeful pipe dream into a reality.

Arsenal fans have waited three months to see their team take to the pitch.

But, in the space of just four days since Premier League football returned, The Gunners have been defeated twice, conceded five goals and, if claims from Goal are true, have lost goalkeeper Bernd Leno for up to a year with what could be a cruciate ligament injury.

With the German’s most ill-timed of blows depriving Arteta of perhaps his most impressive performer from outside of Gabon, an already cash-strapped Arsenal could be forced into the market for a new number one.

And while the name Joe Hart has been thrown around by some, you can imagine that the North London giants, despite their limited funds, will be aiming higher than a man who can’t get into the Burnley team these days.

According to Sport, Barcelona will accept bids of £18 million for Neto, with the Brazil international potentially set to be used as a makeweight in a deal that would see Pierre-Emerick Aubemayang bring his searing pace and lethal finishing to the Camp Nou.

That Neto is represented by Joorabcian should come as no surprise to anyone who has been watching Arsenal’s transfer activity closely.

Technical director Edu has an excellent relationship with Joorabchian, who represents David Luiz, Cedric Soares and reported Gunners targets Philippe Coutinho and Willian.
