Celtic are reportedly edging closer to signing Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes.
Aberdeen’s Jonathan Hayes looks dejected
According to The Express, Celtic have made a new bid worth £1.3million plus Ryan Christie on a season-long loan deal for Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes – and expect to have the move tied up this week.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers
The Bhoys completed a remarkable unbeaten domestic treble last month, winning the Scottish Premiership, Scottish League Cup and Scottish Cup without losing a game.
That doesn’t mean that manager Brendan Rodgers isn’t looking for new signings though, and with Patrick Roberts returning to Manchester City after his 18-month loan spell, another winger will be on Rodgers’ wish list.

Now, after weeks of speculation, The Express report that Celtic have made a renewed £1.3million bid for Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes, with midfielder Ryan Christie set to head back to Pittodrie on loan in the opposite direction.
Winger Hayes, 29, worked with Rodgers in the Reading youth setup, and he is allegedly set to return from international duty with the Republic of Ireland in order to seal his move to Celtic.
Celtic’s Ryan Christie
Hayes, formerly of Leicester City, hit nine goals and 12 assists in the Scottish Premiership this past season, and seems to have done enough to secure a reunion with Rodgers.
The deal will see midfielder Christie return to Aberdeen on loan for the duration of next season, having spent the second half of the season with the Dons – and with a deal now being pushed through, Celtic allegedly hope to have everything agreed inside the next 48 hours.
