Newcastle United will face Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League next weekend.

It has been reported that Shelvey fractured his hand while trying to break up a training ground bust-up between Jamaal Lascelles and Mohamed Diame.

The former Charlton Athletic and Liverpool midfielder currently has his left hand in a cast, according to the report.
The Northern Echo, though, has claimed that the 25-year-old England international should be available for the Premier League match against Southampton away from home at St. Mary’s Stadium next weekend.

This will come as a boost to Newcastle, who drew 1-1 with Liverpool at St. James’ Park in the league before the international break.
Shelvey is one of the best and most important players in Rafael Benitez’s side, and him being available for the match against Southampton is only going to enhance the Magpies’ chances of picking up all three points from the encounter.
