Sunderland are reportedly on the verge of signing Jon McLaughlin in the summer transfer window.

Sunderland will complete the signing of Jon McLaughlin today, according to The Scottish Sun.
It has been reported that McLaughlin will join Sunderland on a free transfer following his departure from Heart of Midlothian at the end of last season.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper will undergo a medical today and put pen to paper to link up with Jack Ross’s team, according to the report.

The former Burton Albion goalkeeper recently suggested to The Scottish Sun that he will make a decision on his future in regard to getting chances for the Scotland national football team.
According to The Scottish Sun, McLaughlin had received lucrative offers from both Azerbaijan and Cyprus.

Second Sunderland signing of the summer
McLaughlin will be Sunderland’s second signing of the summer transfer window, with the Black Cats having already secured the services of Alim Ozturk.
The 25-year-old Turkish defender moved to the Black Cats on a free transfer following his departure from Boluspor.
Interestingly, Ozturk is also a former Hearts player, having been on the books of the Scottish club from 2014 until 2017.
