Steve Bruce has been trying to bring John Terry back to Aston Villa.

Villa have been tracking Terry recently, with Steve Bruce’s side now having funds to spend on new players again.
Terry looked to have settled upon moving to Russia, but it now seems that the transfer won’t go through.
The veteran centre-back underwent a medical with Spartak, but after returning home, he has reportedly decided that a move there isn’t for him.

Terry’s move to Spartak is now said to be given just a 10% chance of going through, which could offer Villa hope in their pursuit.
Bruce has made no secret of his desire to add a new defender, and Terry could be perfect.
Terry spent last season at Villa and was hugely impressive, but the claret and blues were not able to agree a new contract with him at the start of the transfer window, due to their financial worries.
