John Terry is ready to return to Aston Villa, with the Championship club’s owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens having given the green light for the Villans to bring the Chelsea legend back to Villa Park, according to The Mirror.

It has been reported that Villa manager Bruce wants to sign Terry on a free transfer again, having been able to convince the former England international central defender to play for his team during the 2017-18 campaign following his departure from Premier League giants Chelsea.

Huge boost

Terry was superb for Villa last season and was one of the best defenders in the Championship, as the Villans reached the playoff final.

Villa are struggling defensively at the moment, and although Terry is 37 years of age, the Englishman will still be able to do a job in the Championship.

The 37-year-old will bring with him a wealth of experience and will add assurance to the backline.

Villa’s recent form and results have not been great, and a player of Terry’s calibre will change that.
