According to a report in the Telegraph, West Bromwich Albion will step up their chase of John Terry.

Chelsea are set to allow Terry to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the campaign.

And a move to the Hawthorns is said to appeal to Terry, who is contemplating his next move.

The 36-year-old is also likely to have an offer from Bournemouth, but he is said to have concerns about a move to the south coast.

Bournemouth’s attacking style may not be ideal for Terry, who is said to be more keen to join Tony Pulis’ side.

West Brom like to sit deep and soak up pressure, which could suit Terry’s style of play.

Terry has recently suggested that he could retire at the end of the season, if the right deal doesn’t come up, but West Brom are hopeful of getting a transfer over the line.

Terry has only made eight Premier League appearances for Chelsea this term, with Antonio Conte favouring other options.
