Newcastle United new boy Joe Willock enjoyed something of a dream debut for the Magpies on Saturday afternoon having arrived from Arsenal.
Steve Bruce pounced on deadline day to sign Willock on loan from the Gunners, securing him until the end of the season.
Willock was handed a start against Southampton, and he repaid Bruce’s faith in next to time on his St James’ Park bow.
The 21-year-old scored inside 16 minutes, latching onto Allan Saint-Maximin’s pull-back to fire past Alex McCarthy.
Newcastle ended up winning the game 3-2, with Willock playing a key role whilst giving fans a glimpse of what he can provide.
The Chronicle now claim that Willock has been producing ‘energetic’ displays in training, making an instant impact just days after arriving from Arsenal.

Willock needs to make an impression in his stay at Newcastle, as he needs to prove to Mikel Arteta that he is worth of a major role at Arsenal moving forward.
Impressing in training and scoring goals in games is the way to do it – and Willock has ticked off both boxes in his first week on Tyneside.
