According to Sky Sports, Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart prefers to stay in the Premier League as he heads toward an exit – but Everton have yet to make contact over a deal.
Hart, 29, has racked up almost 350 appearances for City having joined the club from Shrewsbury Town back in 2006, but his time at the Etihad Stadium could be coming to an end.
The England international – who has been the Three Lions’ first-choice stopper since 2010 – was surprisingly left on the bench by new manager Pep Guardiola for Manchester City’s opening Premier League clash with Sunderland on Saturday evening, and was also an unused substitute in the 5-0 win over Steaua Bucharest on Tuesday.
Sky Sports note that City are poised to sign Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, and Hart is now expected to leave the club by the end of the transfer window as a result.
It’s understood that Hart will now take time to look at the options available to him, with Sevilla and Everton the two teams believed to be most interested in signing Hart this month.
However, the report adds that Hart would prefer to stay in England, making Everton the hot favourites to seal his signature – but Ronald Koeman’s men have yet to enter negotiations with City over a deal.

The Toffees replaced Tim Howard with Maarten Stekelenburg this summer, and whilst the Dutchman impressed on his league debut against Tottenham on Saturday, Everton may still be in the market for another goalkeeper to play ahead of the 33-year-old.
Hart would certainly fit the bill having won two Premier League titles, but it remains to be seen whether Everton and City can strike a deal to save Hart from his Etihad hell under Guardiola.
