Joao Moutinho is reportedly closing in on a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
According to Sky Sports’ Live Transfer Blog [24/07/2018 10:57], Joao Moutinho has arrived at Wolverhampton Wanderers for a medical.
The Express and Star reported on Monday that the Portuguese veteran was closing in on a £5 million move to Wolves from Monaco.
And it looks like that one has moved a step closer to materialising after Sky Sports’ Live Transfer Blog [24/07/2018 10:57] claimed that the 31-year-old has arrived in the city for his medical.
The report adds that Moutinho will sign a two-year deal with Wolves.
Despite being 31 and perhaps past his peak, Moutinho, for £5 million, is an outstanding bit of business by manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
This is a player with 113 international caps and plenty of major titles – including Euro 2016.
He could be the fifth Portuguese player to join Wolves on a permanent basis this summer – after Rui Patricio, Diogo Jota, Ruben Vinagre and Paulo Alves – and the 10th player to sign for Nuno’s side overall.
Wanderers cruised to Premier League promotion last season and although survival might be the priority for Fulham and Cardiff, the two teams who joined Wolves in the top flight, Nuno’s outfit will have much grander plans.
