West Ham United continue to be linked with Joan Jordan.
According to El Desmarque, Eibar midfielder Joan Jordan has agreed a provisional five-year deal with Sevilla – but he could still end up at West Ham United.
Jordan, 24, has thrived with Eibar since being dumped by Espanyol in 2017, and his performances are now attracting major interest.
West Ham have been pursuing Jordan, and have allegedly made it clear they’ll pay his €15million (£13.3million) release clause, but Sevilla are in the mix too.
It’s now believed that Sevilla actually have a five-year deal in place should they strike a deal with Eibar, but they’re currently not willing to pay more than €12million (£10.5million).
The haggling over just €3million means Sevilla may miss out on Jordan, and it’s the ideal time for West Ham to try and rush through a deal for the midfielder.
West Ham need to sell that they want him more than Sevilla do, as they’re willing to pay the money required rather than haggle over such a small price.
Playing Premier League football in an ambitious side dreaming of European qualification should be attractive to Jordan, as should playing for a top manager like Manuel Pellegrini.
A move may well be held up by those talks with Sevilla, but given that they’re still haggling, it’s time for West Ham to ramp up their pursuit and win the race.
