According to the Daily Mail, defender Joachim Andersen has told Lyon he wants a permanent move to the Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur keen.

It’s claimed that Andersen has already informed Lyon that he doesn’t want to head back to France this summer, having spent the season on loan at Fulham.

Instead, the Dane wants to nail down a future in the Premier League, and he is likely to have bigger interest than Fulham, who could end up being relegated.

The Mail claim that Tottenham are pressing ahead with their interest in Andersen, and could make a move for him this summer.

Andersen’s stance is encouraging for Spurs, who will now have real hope of a deal for the 23-year-old, who joined Lyon for £26million in 2019.

Lyon want almost the same price back, demanding £25million for Andersen having seen him impress at Fulham this season despite their struggles; after all, he was branded ‘top drawer’ by Tony Gale earlier this season.

Spurs are weighing up an offer, and the fact that they’re based in London could be a boost given that Andersen has spent the season in the capital.

Tottenham must sign a new defender this summer, and Andersen seems like a very attainable target given his price, availability and desire to stay in England.
