According to BBC Sport, St Mirren want to bring in Celtic striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo on loan this summer.
It’s claimed that boss Jim Goodwin – a former Celtic midfielder – wanted to sign Bayo during the January window, but couldn’t get a deal done.
Now, with Celtic pursuing another striker this summer, Bayo looks to be the odd man out at Parkhead, meaning St Mirren are interested again.
Brendan Rodgers pounced to sign Bayo for £2million from Dunajska Streda in January 2019, having smashed 22 goals in 32 games for the Slovakian side.
23-year-old Bayo hasn’t enjoyed the same success in Scotland, scoring four times in 16 games for Celtic, with injuries hampering him.
He is now fourth-choice behind Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths and Patryk Klimala, with another attacker likely on the way before the end of the window.

The Ivorian hitman needs games, and St Mirren should be able to offer him that in what would be something of a coup for them.
Celtic likely won’t let Bayo go unless they know they have another striker coming in, just to protect themselves from being left short up top, but loaning Bayo out this summer should be a priority after a difficult 18 months at Parkhead.
