Leeds United head coach Jesse Marsch had initially doubted whether Wilfried Gnonto could make an impact in the Premier League straightaway, according to The Athletic.
Gnonto joined Premier League club Leeds from Swiss club Zurich in the summer transfer window.
According to The Daily Mail, the West Yorkshire club paid £3.8 million in transfer fees to secure the services of the 18-year-old Italy international forward.
The Athletic have reported this morning that ‘Marsch doubted at first that Gnonto would be primed for the Premier League straight away’.
The report, though, has noted that the Leeds head coach did have the 18-year-old forward on the substitutes’ bench against Aston Villa.

Wilfried Gnonto could be a future Leeds United star
In our view, Wilfried Gnonto could be a star for Leeds United in the future.
After all, Gnonto is only 18 and is far from the finished article.
That the teenage forward has already played six times for Italy shows his quality and what he is capable of.
The former Zurich forward has a very big and strong reputation, and we think that if he continues to work hard and gets decent playing time, then he will develop into a brilliant footballer.
