Rangers are closing in on a move to bring Jermain Defoe to Ibrox.

According to the Daily Mail, Bournemouth striker Jermain Defoe was going through his Rangers medical on Saturday as Jordan Jones and Glen Kamara arrived.
The Gers have kicked off their January business in style, adding Kilmarnock winger Jones and Dundee midfielder Kamara on pre-contract agreements, meaning they will arrive at Ibrox in the summer.
Steven Gerrard remains keen on additions for right now though, and whilst a move for Southampton midfielder Steven Davis is ongoing, striker Defoe is edging closer to completing his switch.
The Daily Mail report that Defoe was undergoing his medical with Rangers on Saturday ahead of completing his move to Ibrox, which will be an 18-month loan deal.
Defoe’s medical seemingly went without a hitch, and is now expected to join up with the Rangers squad for their winter break training camp in Tenerife this week.
Defoe, 36, has found first-team football hard to come by at Bournemouth this season, and the signing of Dominic Solanke has only served to push him further down the pecking order.

With no Premier League starts to his name this term, Defoe has now decided to head out on loan, and will reunite with his former England teammate Gerrard at Rangers.
Having scored more than 250 club goals in his career, Defoe is an exciting signing for Rangers, and they will hope to get the deal over the line this week in a major statement of intent.
