According to The Guardian, West Ham United defender Jeremy Ngakia won’t be signing a new deal to play out the season with the club.
It’s claimed that West Ham were ‘dismayed’ when they offered a £5,000-a-week deal to Ngakia, only to be snubbed by the right back.
They have attempted to coax a U-turn out of 19-year-old Ngakia, but he now won’t even sign a short-term extension to see out the Premier League season.
His deal ends on June 30th, and that is seemingly when he will be leaving. He is now set to become a free agent, though West Ham will be entitled to compensation.
One interesting note in the report states that Ngakia isn’t actually the highest regarded right back at the London Stadium.

Instead, Ben Johnson is the West Ham right back being tipped for a big future. The only reason Ngakia was given the chance to play was that Johnson was out injured.
With Ryan Fredericks unconvincing and Pablo Zabaleta set to leave, Johnson may soon have the chance to take Ngakia’s spot – and West Ham will hope that he can be the long-term solution following Ngakia’s exit.
