Championship dup Nottingham Forest and Birmingham City reportedly sent scouts to watch Albacete forward Jeremie Bela last season.

Nottingham Forest and Birmingham City both sent scouts to watch Jeremie Bela last season, according to Get France Football News, though the Albacete forward appears to have missed his chance to sign for one of the Championship’s biggest clubs.
A 26-year-old attacker who can play anywhere across the front three, the Frenchman enjoyed the best spell of his career in 2018/19. In all competitions, Bela scored 12 goals as Albacete finished fourth in the Spanish second tier, only missing out on promotion via the play-offs.
Bela is now a free agent after rejecting a new contract with the Clockwork Cheese and a return to France in on the cards with Ligue 1 duo Nantes and Angers interested. But is a move to England on the cards? Well, probably not.
Get France Football News reports that both Nottingham Forest and Birmingham kept tabs on Bela during his impressive 2018/19 campaign.

But, as the report points out, Bela struggled to impress whenever scouts from either the City Ground or St Andrews travelled to Spain, meaning Forest and Birmingham appear unlikely to act on their initial interest.
Now, depending on your viewpoint, the second tier of English football would arguably represent a better move for Bela than a first-team side in France with the Championship one of the most competitive leagues in European football.
The viewing figures, both on TV and in the stadiums, are as eye-catching as ever.
