Sunderland are set to take on Chelsea at the Stadium of Light tomorrow evening.

According to the Northern Echo, Sunderland are set to recall Jan Kirchhoff to their starting line-up for their match against Chelsea tomorrow.

Sunderland are without Didier Ndong for the fixture, after the summer signing picked up his fifth booking of the season.

Ndong will now have to sit on the sidelines for a match, leaving a space for Kirchhoff to stake his claim.

Kirchhoff is still working his way back towards full fitness, after being injured for much of the season to date.

The 26-year-old has not made a start for Sunderland since October, with his two most recent appearances both coming as a substitute.

However, Moyes is prepared to bring Kirchhoff back into his starting line-up against Chelsea.

Kirchhoff was highly impressive last campaign, as Sunderland managed to avoid relegation, but there are question marks over how sharp he will be this time around – after spending so long on the treatment table.

If Sunderland can get a victory against Antonio Conte’s side, they could move out of the relegation zone, which would be a major boost for the North East club.
