The Scotland international was denied a move to Celtic Park by the Baggies.

Scotland midfielder James Morrison was keen on a deadline day switch to Celtic, but saw his exit blocked by West Bromwich Albion, reports the Daily Record.
Celtic are said to have launched an “11th-hour” attempt to bring Morrison to his grandparents’ homeland, having already signed teammate Cristian Gamboa earlier in the week.

But Morrison, who signed a new long-term contract earlier in the window, was denied a reunion with his fellow right-sider – despite the Baggies landing Hal Robson-Kanu on a free transfer.
West Brom had also been linked with a string of midfielders, including Everton’s James McCarthy – himself a reported Celtic target, but Watford full-back Allan Nyom was their only other deadline day recruit.

And despite playing just four minutes of league football this season, the 30-year-old was deemed unexpendable by manager Tony Pulis.
Morrison is currently away with his Scotland teammates – which include Celtic pair Craig Gordon and James Forrest – ahead of Sunday’s World Cup qualifier in Malta.

The Darlington-born star is yet to play for a club north of the border, having begun his career at Middlesbrough before moving to the Hawthorns in 2007.
