James Morrison is reportedly snubbing a move back to Middlesbrough.
West Bromwich Albion’s James Morrison
According to The Telegraph, West Bromwich Albion midfielder James Morrison is set to sign a new contract and snub a return to former club Middlesbrough.
Morrison, 30, joined Middlesbrough as a 12-year-old way back in 1998 having been born in nearby Darlington, and went on to score seven goals in 98 appearances as a first-team player for Boro.

However, Morrison left Teesside in August 2007, as he completed a move to join West Bromwich Albion – and he’s been a key player at The Hawthorns ever since.
Now with more than 250 appearances for the Baggies, Morrison has been a key player i both the Premier League and the Championship, but his future has been in doubt.

Morrison’s contract expires in a matter of days, and after just 19 appearances last season, many expected the Scotland international to leave this summer – with a possible move back to Middlesbrough mooted following their promotion back to the Premier League.

The Telegraph now report that Morrison is set to reject a return to the Riverside Stadium in order to sign a new contract with West Brom worth a cool £38,000-a-week.
That means Middlesbrough must now turn their attentions elsewhere, and the Baggies finally get to keep one of their longest-serving and most experienced players in a smart move for Tony Pulis’ side.
