Aston Villa are reportedly set to miss out on James Justin.

James Justin of Luton Town

According to the Daily Mail, Luton Town defender James Justin has indicated that he’s ready to join Leicester City despite interest from Aston Villa.

Justin, 21, has come up through the ranks with his hometown club, becoming one of their key players whether featuring at right back or left back.

The versatile defender has become one of the Football League’s top young talents, and despite helping Luton reach the Championship, he looks set to leave Kenilworth Road.

Justin has allegedly told Leicester that he’s ready to join them, despite having interest from Premier League rivals Aston Villa and his former manager Nathan Jones at Stoke City.

Villa already have one right back joining up this summer in Frenchman Frederic Guilbert, so he certainly deserves a chance to shine there before another right back comes in.

A natural left-footed option may be preferable at left back for Villa, but his fit at Leicester appears to be perfect under Brendan Rodgers.

Justin can not only operate as cover for Ricardo Pereira after Danny Simpson’s exit, but also behind Ben Chilwell at left back, whilst giving Rodgers the option to play Justin at right back with Pereira further forward in certain games.

With huge potential and great versatility, he looks to be a fine addition for Leicester – which may leave Villa feeling sick at losing out.
