According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic winger James Forrest won’t be fit for tonight’s game against Hibernian, but may be back to face Valencia next week.

The Bhoys are in action at Parkhead tonight as Hibs travel to Glasgow, and Celtic will be hoping to build on Sunday’s win over St Johnstone with another victory.

A problem for Brendan Rodgers is that he has a host of injury problems to deal with ahead of tonight’s game, with Mikael Lustig, Ryan Christie and Odsonne Edouard all picking up injury concerns at St Johnstone.

Another player injured in that game was winger Forrest, who actually scored the first goal before heading off with a hamstring injury, leaving Celtic to see out the final stages with 10 men.

Now, The Scottish Sun report that Forrest’s injury isn’t as bad as first feared after an initial scan, though he will still miss out on tonight’s game.

Rodgers may yet be delighted though, as Forrest could be fit to face Valencia in Celtic’s crucial Europa League clash next Thursday, providing treatment goes well.

Forrest, 27, has been superb this season with 12 goals and 17 assists in 39 games, and the Bhoys will hope that he is back sooner rather than later.
