James Collins is reportedly hoping for a move to Aston Villa.

According to The Ipswich Star, defender James Collins is still training with Ipswich Town as the wait over a potential move from Aston Villa goes on.
Collins, 35, is a free agent having left West Ham United at the end of his contract this summer, after racking up almost 150 appearances in his second spell with the Hammers.
The Welshman has had some interest over the summer, but will now find himself as a wanted man given that the transfer window has closed, and only free agents can be signed.
Along with Robert Huth, John Terry and Steven Caulker, Collins is one of the more desirable free agent centre backs, with Championship clubs interested.
Collins has been training with Ipswich Town ahead of a possible move to Portman Road, and The Ipswich Star report that he is still training with the Tractor Boys.
Paul Hurst may be keen for Collins to come in and add some experience to his back line, but the problem is that Aston Villa – one of Collins’ former clubs – may just be lurking in the shadows.

The Telegraph reported over the weekend that Collins has been holding off signing for Ipswich in the hope that Villa offer to re-sign him to solve their defensive crisis.
Villa desperately need a centre back, and Collins – who made over 100 appearances for Villa between 2009 and 2012 – would certainly fit the bill, but with the wait still ongoing, he may not be in line for a return after all.
