Aston Villa defender James Chester is reportedly wanted by Stoke City and Brighton and Hove Albion.

According to The Daily Mail, Championship side Stoke and Premier League club Brighton are interested in signing Chester from Villa in the summer transfer window.
The Mirror, though, has reported that Chester is keen on staying at Villa for the 2018-19 campaign.
Aston Villa stay?
Chester is one of the best defenders in the Championship, and if Villa want to launch a challenge for the playoffs next season, then they should try to keep hold of the former West Bromwich Albion defender.

With the recent new investment in Villa, the Villans should be looking to at least try to keep some of their best players, and the 29-year-old should be among in that list.
If the Wales international central defender – who joined Villa from West Brom in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £9 million – wants to stay at Villa Park next season, then the Villans should try their best to keep hold of him.
