£5m midfielder Jacob Butterfield hasn’t made a single Championship appearance under Frank Lampard and Derby and could move to League One.

Jacob Butterfield’s Derby County nightmare could come to an end today with Bradford City keen to land the out-of-favour midfielder on loan, according to the Yorkshire Post.
The Rams are keen to trim the fat from a bloated squad and have already managed to discard fellow fringe players Alex Pearce and George Thorne during the January transfer window.
And Butterfield, who has not made a single appearance since Frank Lampard took over at Pride Park, looks set to follow them out of the exit door before tonight’s 11pm deadline.
Derby paid a hefty £5 million to sign the midfielder in the summer of 2015 (BBC) but he has rarely looked like living up to that transfer fee in the East Midlands.

The 28-year-old, who spent time at Manchester United in his younger years, was farmed out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday last season and has been unable to salvage his Derby career.
And the Yorkshire Post claims that Butterfield is now keen to leave and could be offered a fresh start by League One outfit Bradford.
The Bantams are expected to pay a portion of his wages.
