Jack Wilshere reportedly turned down a serious signing-on fee from Turkey to join West Ham United.

According to The Daily Star, Jack Wilshere rejected a “huge” offer in favour of joining West Ham United this summer.

The English midfielder signed a three-year deal with West Ham earlier this month following his release by Arsenal.

The 26-year-old had spent his entire career on the books at Arsenal, but revealed that he had always been a big fan of the Hammers after arriving at the London Stadium.

West Ham weren’t the only club interested in Wilshere and The Daily Star claim that he snubbed a highly-lucrative move to Turkish side Fenerbahce.

The report adds that Wilshere turned down a massive £8 million signing-on fee in order to sign for Manuel Pellegrini.

Wilshere is a passionate and tenacious midfielder. If the above is true, it’s clear that he had his heart set on the East Londoners and perhaps West Ham fans will see evidence of that in his performances this season.

They kick off their Premier League campaign with a trip to Liverpool on August 12.
