According to talkSPORT (via Glasgow Live), the possibility of Rangers signing Jack Wilshere could still happen this month – it is stated that a switch to Ibrox ‘shouldn’t be ruled out’.
The 34-cap England international recently had his contract terminated by West Ham, after mustering up just 19 appearances in all competitions since his 2018 move from Arsenal.
Wilshere’s statement – posted on Twitter – revealed that he’d been fully fit for the past eight months, and his lack of game time was down to David Moyes simply not selecting him.
However, Transfermarkt state that the 28-year-old missed a total of 53 games for the Hammers due to injuries, notably to his ankle and groin.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has played alongside Jack Wilshere while the pair were on international duty for England in the past.

The Gers boss should know all about the ex-Bolton midfielder, and what he could offer his side.
Another man who knows Wilshere well is Manuel Pellegrini, who signed the Stevenage-born man for West Ham while in charge of the Irons.
The Chilean once likened the free agent to Italian legend Andrea Pirlo.

Sky Sports quote the ex-Manchester City boss as saying: ‘Remember Juventus, around four or five years ago, played with one holding midfielder. It was Andrea Pirlo.
‘And Pirlo is the same as Jack. He has the same characteristics as Jack. I think that every good player can play with others.’
It remains to be seen if Rangers do swoop for the out-of-contract Wilshere.
If they do – and crucially, can keep him fit – then Gerrard will have a top, top player on his hands.
