According to the Northern Echo, Sunderland boss Jack Ross will agree to Bryan Oviedo’s sale this summer.

Oviedo is one of Sunderland’s top earners, and needs to be offloaded following the North East side’s failure to earn promotion.

Sunderland realise that they need to cut the wage bill at the Stadium of Light, as they look to rebuild following their play off final defeat to Charlton Athletic.

Oviedo forced his way back into Sunderland’s team towards the end of the campaign, and generally performed well.

However, Ross will reluctantly sanction the departure of the Costa Rican international.

Club Brugge are said to be interested in taking Ovideo off Sunderland, with his exit now edging closer.

Sunderland already have Denver Hume and Reece James at the club, so they may not need to buy another left-back if Oviedo does leave.
