Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish will reportedly miss out on a spot in the England squad.

According to The Telegraph, Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish is unlikely to be named in the England squad by Gareth Southgate.
The new season may have only recently kicked off, but the first international break of the season is already on the horizon.
Players will head off with their countries after this weekend’s games, and England boss Southgate has big decisions to make ahead of games against Bulgaria and Kosovo in EURO 2020 qualifiers.
This is the first squad Southgate has named since the UEFA Nations League this summer, and there could be changes in his squad.
One player unlikely to make the squad though is Villa playmaker Grealish, who seemingly hasn’t quite done enough to push himself into Southgate’s side, especially with fellow playmakers Mason Mount and James Maddison thriving.
That will be a blow for Grealish, who has made a decent start to life back in the Premier League, and even more so given that two of his Villa teammates may end up in the squad.

Tom Heaton is likely to be one of the goalkeepers included, whilst it’s noted that defender Tyrone Mings is on the radar and may be brought into the squad at centre back, but also to cover at left back too.
That at least means that Southgate is keeping an eye on Villa now they’re back in the Premier League, and Grealish may still have a shot at a role in the England squad in the future if he continues to impress.
