According to Como City, Steve Bruce wants to make Jack Wilshere his first signing for West Brom, but the midfielder is training with Arsenal.

What’s the story?

Well, Bruce arrived at West Brom after the January transfer window, but he may not need to wait until the summer to make his first signing.

Como City believe Serie B outfit Como 1907 want to sign the England international, but they face competition from West Brom.

Wilshere is currently training with Arsenal after leaving Bournemouth in 2021, as he looks to maintain his fitness ahead of his next move.

Mikel Arteta has allowed him to train at London Colney with the first-team since October, so you would assume the Spaniard has no intention of signing the 30-year-old.

If he did, he surely would’ve done it by now, especially as Arsenal lack options in the midfield department.

Arsenal should sign the West Brom target

In our view, Arsenal should give Wilshere a short-term contract until the end of the season.

The Hale End Academy graduate obviously knows the Gunners well, and his style of play suits Arteta’s philosophy of moving the ball quickly through transitions.

Of course, Wilshere is susceptible to injuries, although if he does happen to suffer another problem, then at least Arsenal won’t find themselves stuck in a long-term commitment.

West Brom and Bruce – nor Como 1907 – will agree with us, as they’d clearly like to have Wilshere to themselves.

However, we still think he has enough talent to play a role for Arsenal this season, even if it’s a small one.
