According to The Mirror, Issa Diop turned down Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham to join West Ham United.

Diop joined West Ham from French club Toulouse in the summer of 2018 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £22 million.

The 22-year-old central defender has been superb for the Hammers this season and has established himself as an important player in manager Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

According to WhoScored, the French youngster scored one goal in 32 Premier League appearances, and has also played twice in the FA Cup and three times in the EFL Cup for the Hammers.

The Mirror has claimed that Diop picked West Ham over Everton, Fulham and Tottenham.

Future Tottenham Hotspur move?

Tottenham are going places, and the North London outfit will need a promising young central defender in the coming years.

It is unlikely to see Diop leave West Ham this summer, but perhaps in a year or two years’ time, Tottenham could make a move for the 22-year-old.
