According to The Sun, West Ham United are plotting a big-money move for Watford winger Ismaila Sarr.

It’s claimed that the Hammers want to offer £30million to bring in Sarr, having sold striker Sebastien Haller to Ajax on Friday.

Crystal Palace allegedly offered £25million in October, but West Ham are now ready to offer more in an effort to sign the Senegalese star this month.

The report adds that Sarr was hoping to join Liverpool or Manchester United, but neither side have made a move, meaning West Ham now have a real chance.

Sarr, 22, bagged five goals and four assists for Watford last season, impressing in the Premier League despite the Hornets suffering relegation.

In the Championship, Sarr has notched four goals and two assists, continuing to cause trouble with his speed and dribbling ability.

Links to West Ham seem strange though; Sarr isn’t a natural striker that would come in and replace Haller, as he’s more of a wide man, operating on either flank.

Maybe David Moyes thinks he can turn Sarr into a quality striker, but with Jarrod Bowen on the right and money committed to Said Benrahma on the left, Sarr seems like an odd target for West Ham right now.
