Everton are reportedly set to land Standard Liege striker Ishak Belfodil in a £10.5m deal.

According to Belgian newspaper La Derniere Heure, Everton are set to sign Standard Liege striker Ishak Belfodil in a £10.5million swoop.

The Toffees have already added Ademola Lookman to their ranks following his move from Charlton Athletic last week, whilst a major deal for Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is on the verge of completion.

Everton won’t stop there though, and manager Ronald Koeman has been desperately searching for another striker to offer some support to Romelu Lukaku, especially with flop Oumar Niasse seemingly heading for the exit door.

Now, Belgian newspaper La Derniere Heure report that Everton are on the verge of sealing a €12million (£10.5million) deal for Standard Liege striker Ishak Belfodil, after talks advanced on Tuesday night.

Belfodil, 24, has turned out for the likes of Lyon, Parma and Inter Milan during his career so far, and penned a deal with Standard on deadline day back in August having hit 11 goals in goals in 23 games for Emirati side Baniyas Club.

The giant Algerian, who stands at almost 6ft 4in tall, has scored six times in 16 league games for Standard, as well as scoring three goals in five Europa League appearances, which appears to have caught the eye of Everton.

It’s stated that Belfodil is set to leave Liege’s training camp in Spain on Thursday in order to seal the transfer, with the striker potentially set to become Everton’s latest January signing.

Everton’s director of football Steve Walsh had great success at former club Leicester with Riyad Mahrez, and will be hoping that Belfodil can follow in the footsteps of his international team-mate by starring in the Premier League.
