The Algerian is wanted by Everton but a move has been delayed.

Over the weekend it was reported that Everton’s move to sign Algerian striker Ishak Belfodil was being delayed by negotiations with the player’s agent, according to the Liverpool Echo.

It was suggested Everton still have a £10.5 million agreement with his club Standard Liege and that a deal is still very much on the cards.

Reports in Belgium are now suggesting the powerful striker is becoming increasingly frustrated with the events at his club – as he simply wants the move to Everton.

According to Het Belang Van Limburg the Algerian is not amused with Standard as the club try their best to keep hold of the player.

Everton’s interest in the player is being driven by new player recruitment head Steve Walsh but it seems what should have been a straight-forward deal has become increasingly convoluted.

Belfodil has been in good form for Standard Liege this season, ever since joining the club from UAE outfit Baniyas in the summer.

Everton are looking for new striking options to help support Romelu Lukaku as they are short in that respective area.

Belfodil was supposed to be an easy and affordable target – but it seems his signature will not be as straight forward as first thought.
