Ipswich Town are ready to move for the Blackpool midfielder, who has impressed with eight goals this season.

Ipswich Town are one of several Championship sides chasing Blackpool midfielder Brad Potts in January, according to the Daily Mail.

Potts has scored an impressive eight goals in 22 outings in all competitions – prompting scouts to flock to Bloomfield Road this season – and the report claims Ipswich will launch a £500,000 bid for him when the transfer window opens.

Blackpool are said to be reluctant to lose the 22-year-old, for whom they paid £250,000 from Carlisle United in 2015, although it is claimed that anything over £500,000 could tempt the Seasiders into a sale.

Ipswich finished seventh last term but have slid down the table this time around and currently reside in 16th place.

The Tractor Boys’ poor finances have seen manager Mick McCarthy often look to the lower leagues for talents, with Freddie Sears (Colchester United) and Adam Webster (Portsmouth) among those to have arrived at Portman Road in recent campaigns.

And six-foot-two Potts could be next, with the report adding that McCarthy believes he has ‘the physical attributes to deal with the rigour of Championship football’.

Potts, whose contract Blackpool have an option to extend until 2018, has been capped once by England at under-19 level.
