Ipswich Town are ready to sign Kayden Jackson in a £2 million deal – despite late interest from Queens Park Rangers, according to the Sun (July 30, liveblog).

Jackson scored 15 goals and made as many in 44 games for Accrington Stanley last season, and the League Two champions are said to have rejected all offers for him so far.

But it is claimed that Ipswich’s latest bid should be accepted, even with QPR lurking.

Jackson could replace Martyn Waghorn at Ipswich, with the 28-year-old expected to leave for a rival Championship club after entering the final year of his contract.

And QPR could find themselves in a similar situation, after Luke Freeman was linked with a trio of second tier sides over the weekend.

The R’s will be looking to add as many players as possible this summer, after having a transfer embargo imposed upon them for the duration of the January window.

Steve McClaren speaks with the media, as he is officially unveiled as the Queens Park Rangers new manager at Loftus Road on May 21, 2018 in London, England.

Would Jackson be a good addition for Ipswich / QPR?
