Burton Albion are said to be favourites to sign the Cardiff City winger, but Ipswich Town could enter the running.

Ipswich Town are ready to rival Burton Albion for the signing of Cardiff City winger Craig Noone, The Mirror reports.

It is claimed that Noone is free to leave Cardiff this summer, with Burton ‘favourites for his £500,000 signature’, but Ipswich are also said to be in the running.

Noone played 34 times for the Bluebirds in last season’s Championship, but started only half of those outings.

And the 29-year-old was nowhere to be seen as Neil Warnock’s side won their campaign opener at Burton on Saturday, courtesy of Kenneth Zohore’s late strike.

Ipswich have signed two Cardiff players already this summer, with central midfielders Emyr Huws and Tom Adeyemi swapping south Wales for Suffolk, which could convince Noone to follow suit.

And another of the Tractor Boys’ new recruits, Joe Garner, could soon be joined by his former Rangers teammate Martyn Waghorn at Portman Road.

Liverpudlian Noone began his career outside of the Football League, going on to play for Plymouth Argyle, Brighton & Hove Albion and Cardiff.

Should Noone choose Ipswich over Burton?
