The Rangers midfielder has only started three out of five games since Steven Gerrard was appointed manager at Ibrox.

Josh Windass may not make Rangers’ game against Maribor on Thursday.
That’s because, according to the Sun’s printed edition (Thursday 9th August, page 55), Ipswich Town are hoping to sign the Rangers attacking midfielder in a £2 million deal ahead of the English transfer deadline at 5pm.
Windass was one of Rangers’ standout performers last season, but has only started three of Steven Gerrard’s five competitive matches as manager at Ibrox.
And interest seems to be growing south of the border, with the Sun reporting that Ipswich face a late fight from Wigan Athletic for the Hull-born player.

Ironically, it is the sale of Windass’s former Rangers teammate Martyn Waghorn – who moved to Derby County in a £5 million deal on Wednesday – that has provided Ipswich with the funds to bid for the 24-year-old.
Rangers are thought to be due around 10 per cent of that fee, after inserting a clause into the deal that took Waghorn to Portman Road a year ago.
