Aston Villa are reportedly set to sign Glenn Whelan from Stoke City.
According to the Birmingham Mail, Stoke City midfielder Glenn Whelan has undergone a medical with Aston Villa ahead of a £1million move to Villa Park.
Villa completed their third signing of the summer earlier today, as Hull wing back Ahmed Elmohamady completed a move to Villa Park, where he reunites with his former Sunderland and Hull boss Steve Bruce.

The Birmingham Mail now report that Villa are poised to complete the signing of Stoke City midfielder Glenn Whelan, after he completed a medical with the club earlier today.
Whelan, 33, will cost Villa around £1million, twice the amount they offered for the midfielder last month, with Bruce finally landing his man.
Formerly of Sheffield Wednesday, Whelan has been on the books with Stoke since January 2009, and has now racked up nearly 350 appearances during his eight-and-a-half years with the Potters.

A Republic of Ireland international with 81 caps to his name, Whelan brings vast experience to the Villa side, with Bruce seemingly going for the tried-and-tested route with Elmohamady, Terry and Whelan.
Whelan will now seemingly compete with Mile Jedinak for a holding midfield spot this season, offering protection in front of the back four as Villa pursue promotion back to the Premier League.
