The Italian’s boundless energy and graceful style of play has prompted comparisons with Andrea Pirlo, while the Reds may be on the lookout for added creativity in midfield.

Brescia president Massimo Cellino, meanwhile, told Corriere dello Sport how Barcelona have offered £60 million for him while Paris Saint-Germain are also keen.

But it looks like Inter are winning the race for his signature.

Calciomercato claim Inter’s recent sale of Mauro Icadri has freed up the finances to finalize a deal and the club hope to secure him before August.

The Italian editorial explain how Antonio Conte’s side aren’t stopping there. Reported Everton target Kumbulla is even closer to moving to the Serie A title chasers.

The Hellas Verona defender has been in superb form this season. According to TuttoNapoli, the Toffees are keen to sign him this summer.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side must strengthen their defence after conceding 46 Premier League goals in 29 games prior to the Covid-19 suspension.

But Calciomercato add that Inter are firm favourites to sign Kumbulla. The Nerazzurri have opened contact with the player over a £20 million move.

If Liverpool and Everton are serious in their interest, they surely must move now.
