Inter will move for either Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel or Manchester City’s Javi Garcia this summer, according to press reports.
Inter will look to strengthen this summer after a disappointing season that has shown up the weaknesses in their squad.
The Nerazzuri are chasing a world-class striker and have been linked with Chelsea’s Francesco Torres and Real Madrid man Alvaro Morata.
And Inter will also go in search of a strong midfielder to take the pressure off the back line, who have looked exposed at times this term.
Inter are said to be on the trail of Brazilian Nilton, who has been touted as the next Esteban Cambiasso, but they are also expected to move for a player with more European experience.
Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel has been frequently linked with the San Siro side and it seems likely that the West London outfit will be willing to let him leave.
Reports suggest that Chelsea are planning a big clear out in the summer and Mikel is one of the names ready to depart.
But Inter are also looking at Manchester City’s Javi Garcia who is seen as a fringe player by manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Garcia has recently stated that he is settling in at City and that he has much more to the club but he could be tempted by the guarantee of more regular first team football at Inter.
La Gazzetta believes that Inter will try and explore a loan deal for whichever of the two they set their sights on.
