Everton are reportedly fighting Inter Milan for Andre Gomes.

According to Catalan newspaper Sport, Inter Milan are the mystery club attempting to sign Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes ahead of Everton.
Gomes, 25, struggled to make an impact with Barca following his 2016 move from Valencia, and after being made surplus to requirements by Ernesto Valverde, he moved on to Everton in August 2018.
The Portuguese international joined Everton on loan for the season, playing under compatriot Marco Silva at Goodison Park in a bid to get his career back on track.
Gomes has impressed for Everton this term, with fans impressed with his quality on the ball, and it’s no great surprise that Silva and the Toffees want Gomes permanently this summer.
Yesterday, Sport reported that Everton were looking to secure a deal worth between €25million and €30million (£21.6million and £26million), but a mystery club were rivalling them for his signature.
Now though, the Catalan newspaper reports that the mystery club is in fact Inter Milan, with the Serie A club looking to swoop in and take Gomes to the San Siro.

However, they need Champions League qualification in order to boost their transfer kitty, and can’t open talks right now. Everton are allegedly aware of this, and are cleverly attempting to get a deal agreed before Inter can even begin discussing terms with Barca, with Marcel Brands seemingly planning to ruin Inter’s cheeky plans.
That would be a masterstroke from Everton, ending all speculation and ruling out any late surprises, with the Toffees still well ahead of Inter in the battle for Gomes.
