There are reports in Italy that Inter fans have threatened to protest if the club brings back Mario Balotelli.
Mario Balotelli has been widely tipped to return to Italy after an unhappy start to life at Liverpool, but Inter don’t seem likely to swoop if their fans have their say.
The Italian international has failed to deliver so far at Anfield and patience seems to be wearing thin, leading to suggestions that he could be headed back to his homeland.
Inter was where Balotelli cut his teeth at the highest level under Roberto Mancini in Serie A and the former Manchester City boss is back on the Nerazzurri bench and looking to put his stamp on the squad.
Italian newspaper Libero has run the headline: “No to the prodigal son” and states that Inter’s supporters have completely rejected the idea of Super Mario returning to the club and have threatened to rebel.
Inter are instead likely to sign Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski, who would be much more popular at San Siro.
