Everton may face a battle for San Lorenzo striker Adolfo Gaich.
According to FC Inter News, Inter Milan and Genoa have discussed an alliance regarding San Lorenzo striker Adolfo Gaich, potentially stopping Everton from signing him.
Gaich, 20, has emerged as a promising young talent in Argentina, and he just scored three goals at the Under-20 World Cup in Poland to boost his reputation.
Marca reported over the weekend that Everton are big fans of Gaich, and may be willing to $15million (£11.8million) to secure the 6ft 3in centre forward’s signature.
However, a number of clubs are now looking at Gaich too, and two clubs actually appear to be forming a surprise alliance which could block Everton’s attempts.
It’s believed that Genoa have spoken to Inter about a long-term deal. In this scenario, they’d sign Gaich now to bolster their attacking options, but would have the promise of a big-money sale to Inter in the future.
Inter love Gaich but don’t feel he’s ready for a move to the San Siro, and feel that such an alliance gives him first-team football at Genoa, who would then receive a huge profit.
That would be of real concern to Everton, as the lure of having a guaranteed spot at Inter in the future may be too good to turn down for the young target man.
Marcel Brands still has a chance to get in and do a deal before Genoa and Inter strike their agreement, but with the two clubs allegedly talking, they need to act quickly.
