According to The Mirror (print edition, page 68, Sunday, January 31, 2021), Liverpool central defender Virgil van Dijk could make his return from injury in April.
It has been reported that Van Dijk’s cruciate ligament injury was expected to keep him on the sidelines for the rest of the season.
However, the former Southampton central defender has been making great strides in his recovery and is now on track to return to action in April, according to the report, which has added that it is ‘great news’ for manager Jurgen Klopp.
The 29-year-old Netherlands international suffered the injury against Everton back in October.
Huge boost for Liverpool
Of course, it will take a while for Van Dijk to return to his best after he comes back from injury in April, but it is a huge boost to Liverpool’s chances of winning the Premier League title this season.
The defending English champions are very much in the race for the title this season, and Van Dijk’s potential return in April would be a massive help.
Liverpool are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 37 points from 20 matches.
