A report from the London Evening Standard has hinted that Tottenham may soon have a better idea of how long Harry Winks will be sidelined for as he will undergo a scan on Monday.

Winks had to be taken off after just 47 minutes of Spurs’ clash with Burnley on Saturday after falling awkwardly. He had to be stretched off at Turf Moor, with the London Evening Standard reporting that he was taken to hospital, released in time to return to London with the rest of the Spurs squad – who scored twice after Winks was taken off to secure a 2-0 win.

The London Evening Standard reports that he will have the scan on his injured ankle at the start of next week, but he is, of course, not the only player that Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to hear positive news about in the near future.

Victor Wanyama was replaced shortly before the break against the Clarets, which will undoubtedly be a major worry for Tottenham given the results in the Premier League at the weekend.

Chelsea will still be overwhelming favourites for the title, but their defeat at home against Crystal Palace has left the door ever so slightly open for the race for the trophy to potentially go down to the wire.

The Blues’ lead is now just seven points with nine games to go, so a flawless run between now and the end of the season from Pochettino’s men will certainly give the leaders something to worry about.

But having as many key players available as possible will surely be crucial to putting that flawless run together.
