Trent Alexander-Arnold will return to Liverpool training this week, according to a report in the Athletic.

Jurgen Klopp said before the game that Alexander-Arnold was edging closer to making his return for Liverpool.

And reliable Liverpool reporter James Pearce has now provided an update by saying that Alexander-Arnold will return to full training this week.

The news that the right-back is now very close to making his comeback is a major boost to Liverpool, as their injuries problems lessen slightly.

Neco Williams may have performed excellently for the Reds in the Champions League against Ajax last night, but there is widespread recognition that Alexander-Arnold is one of the best full-backs in the Premier League, and his return should more Liverpool more of an attacking threat in future weeks.

If Alexander-Arnold returns to full training later soon it seems unlikely that he will feature against Wolves at the weekend.

However, the 22-year-old may well be included in Liverpool’s squad for their following Premier League game, which comes against Fulham on December 13th.
